Technology Rich Classroom Program

Preparing Today's Students for Tomorrow's World

Deb Collins took on the challenge of writing a math concept book in the classroom and worked with Language Arts teachers to help accomplish the task. Our school improvement plan includes working on helping the students better understand word problems and this project was a big hit with students, parents and teachers. The students not only learned about math concepts but also the use of technology with digital cameras, video recordins, image scanners and file storage solutions. They are very proud of their video to celebrate this project - a project designed for students, made by students and video created to summarize their project.

This was a fun way to supplement our math curriculum.  Students were actively participating in learning both math and technology.  The interaction with our students was exciting and exhausting.  Students were surprised at how they had to think logically, visually, creatively and yes, mathematically.  I noticed a big improvement on their word problem writing skills and their ability to solve them as well.
