The TRC leadership team knows there are many great stories and resources that our teachers can share. Think of this post like a prompt on the board, because we desire YOU to comment and share your wisdom so that we can grow our interactive whiteboard resources for teachers and students and enjoy an interactive blog post.
Whiteboard technologies help teachers and students experience interactive, dynamic presentations in the classroom by expanding opportunities to manipulate diagrams and data displays, interject knowledge during presentations, and explore the Internet without technical distractions. To learn tips about effective ways to use interactive whiteboards in the classroom, visit
eHow, or become part of the
Smartboard Revolution Ning network. The
Smarttech Web site also has many great lesson suggestions using Smartboards in the classroom.
Some resources I recommend to explore on the Smartboard:
1) Download
Sketch Up and a
model of architecture you are studying in class. Use the whiteboard as one of multiple technology centers and let groups of students take turns manipulating the structure on the whiteboard.
2) Use
Inspiration to kick off a lesson with some great brainstorming, mind mapping, or planning activities.
3) Use
Google Earth and
Google Lit Trips to take a virtual exploration of literature read in class.
4) Load interactive Web sites like
Arcademic Skill Builders and let students challenge each other in multi-player games like
Orbit Integers.
Please make this an interactive discussion by posting resources that you and your students like to use on the interactive whiteboard, questions you have related to integrating the whiteboard into specific lessons, or ask for specific resources you would love to have about whiteboards. Also feel free to respond to a comment because our collective wisdom will make the world of interactive whiteboards more wonderful.
