TRC Program-Wide Awards Include:

  • People’s Choice: TRC Teaching Video

 

Guidelines:

  • Nominations for all awards will be accepted from all TRC participants (teachers, facilitators and administrators) through Thursday, March 29th, 2012.
  • Nominations need to be turned in via Word .doc or .docx with the naming convention of School, Award, TRC Phase (i.e. LawrenceFacilitatorPhase5).
  • Nominees must be active TRC teachers, facilitators or administrators from Phase 8 or Phase 9 to qualify for this year's awards.
  • An "administrator" role may include (but not be limited to) a building principal, technology director, district superintendent, associate superintendent, assessment coordinator, curriculum director, technology integration specialist, etc.
  • Please note that there is a 1500 character limit for each of the three nomination questions. Any characters beyond the 1500 will not be included in judges reviews.
  • Please send nominations via email to amber@altec.org as an attachment.
  • Judges for all awards (except for The People's Choice) will be a panel of education specialists representing the K-12, higher education, and state department arenas. These judges will be independent and will have no relationships with any of the nominees.

Award Criteria:

  • TRC Teacher of the Year
    Please answer the following three questions for your nominee:

    • 1. Share any examples or information that demonstrate how this person is a powerful educator who uses technology to enhance student learning.  Be sure to include specific project or learning activities that show how this person designs and implements higher-order, student-centered and real-world learning opportunities for their students.  (1500 character limit)

    • 2.  Describe the professionalism and collegiality of this person.  Provide specific examples of how this teacher contributes to your local TRC team, shares their knowledge with your school/district, and ultimately is a strong ambassador for the TRC program.  (1500 character limit)

    • 3. Please describe why you believe this person should be the TRC Teacher of the Year. (1500 character limit)



    TRC Facilitator of the Year

  • Please answer the following three questions for your team's nominee:

    1. Share any examples or information that demonstrate how this facilitator effectively fulfills the role of a mentor and guide, models powerful, technology-enhanced instruction, and provides exceptional classroom-based support. (1500 character limit)

  • 2. Describe how this facilitator effectively differentiates professional learning for TRC teachers. (1500 character limit)

  • 3. Please describe why you believe this person should be the TRC Facilitator of the Year. (1500 character limit)


     


    TRC Administrator of the Year

  • Please answer the following three questions for your team's nominee:

    1. Share any examples or information that demonstrate how this administrator actively supports TRC teachers, students, facilitator(s) and the program as a whole. (1500 character limit)

  • 2. Please describe how this administrator is using TRC as a catalyst for change in the grant school(s) or district(s). How is this administrator leveraging the TRC opportunity to benefit the school or district teachers, students and district personnel in and beyond the current TRCs. (1500 character limit)

  • 3. Please describe why you believe this administrator should be the TRC Administrator of the Year. (1500 character limit)


     


    Best in Show: TRC Lesson Plan


    This award will go to a TRC teacher or team of teachers (depending on the submission). The winner will be determined by a panel of independent judges using the TRC Lesson Plan Rubric which can be viewed here:  http://www.kansastrc.org/forum/topics/celebration-lesson-plan


    Best in Show: TRC Teaching Video

    People's Choice: TRC Teaching Video


    This award will be determined by TRC Ning Members through a week-long, online screening process in early April. Specifics will be announced in March.
