Technology Rich Classroom Program

Preparing Today's Students for Tomorrow's World

One of the biggest benefits we’ve seen with
adding technology into our classrooms is the advantage of student choice.  As we all know, every student is unique…in the way they learn, listen, and progress.  Technology gives us the ticket to meet individual needs and interests.

Ticket to Technology

We recently presented on what we call “Ticket to Technology”.  Worksheets like this were created for various subjects and units of study.  Core content was still taught but assessment of understanding may look different within the classroom.

On each ticket there are 8+ ideas for students to choose from.  Depending on the teacher, student, subject, etc. the number required may vary.  Ideas on each ticket range from applications on the iPad/iPod, interactive projects, paper/pencil, fine arts, internet websites and collaboration with peers.

Some of our favorite options:

Puppet Pals – creativity is key in this fun app!  It’s FREE and the possibilities are endless!  Our students have used it for vocabulary review, book reports, character descriptions and class meetings.

Show Me – Free whiteboard app that allows students to record actions & voice.  Demonstration can be uploaded to share (public or private).  There are ShowMes already created for students to watch as well.

Make Dice Lite – Decisions, review, repetition, practice…roll the dice!  Another free app students use to show understanding of concepts in all content areas.

Educational Rap Songs – Perfect place for students grades 5-12  to listen & create rap songs for math, science, language arts or social studies!

That Quiz – Free online quiz for all math units.  Less paper & students love it!

Flip – Want to improve fluency, expression, confidence? Read, record, listen…repeat.  Our students love the FlipCams and use them every day in all areas.  (Any handheld visual recorder could be used!)
