It's actually happening!

For some time myself and others have talked about curricularizing Youtube and other free video instructional resources sites. In a time of shrinking budgets and teacher shortfalls, I believe we should do some experimenting on supplimenting resources with these free and powerful tools.

What you see in this picture is a girl learning piano at a school with no piano instructor. What can we make available in our schools and… Continue

Building the perfect nest

In my years in education, first as a student, then as a preservice teacher and finally in the classroom, I saw a lot of nest builders. People who sought to build the perfect place for kids to grow. Too often the nest was completed before the chicks arrived..

To our loyal customers,

We are grateful to those customers that still find our fine glass thermometers useful enough to buy. Our factory would be closed down without your support and don’t think a day does by that we’re not appreciative. A few years ago, our competitors began to go off course, exploring digital technologies and strayed away from our industry’s…

Teaching and learning as theater

I watched Les Misérables recently with my family and as the show washed over my senses, I was reminded why I love theater. Well presented theater goes the extra mile to bring a story to life, to make it seem real and important. Could school work like this?

Teaching with the believable scenario

I was a theater major in college and as such I acted, designed and built sets, designed and ran lighting and sound and helped dismantle sets after… Continue
