We are looking for a way to have student access to YouTube videos on our iPod Touches. We tried SafeShare.tv which we learned about last week at the Kick-off, but it is blocked.
Also, some of our newer apps have great video, but it is also blocked and will not load.
Any suggestions?

Can you put this same question to your tech folks and see if they have any solutions? I have to wonder if there aren't some ways to at least allow some video--at least for teacher logins. Do others have ideas for Jeline and her team?
How about SKYPE Jeline, is that blocked?
Permalink Reply by Jeline Harclerode on October 7, 2011 at 1:37pm There are different levels of permissions through Shelterbelt provided by TwoTrees, the district's filtering provider, and teachers can access YouTube video on their laptops. However, TwoTrees does not have a client that can be installed on iPod Touches, so all video is presently blocked. Several apps that Allyson downloaded incorporate video in the "teaching" piece, but none of the video will play.
Interesting note - on Wednesday while working with one of the Tech department guys, we found that SafeShare.tv is not blocked on the student laptops so he was puzzled as to why it won't work on the iPods. He encouraged me to write Jean to inquire how their district is able to "allow" it.
